Strahl Capital's homebase is Oslo, Norway. Surrounded by fjords, hills, and forests, and with easy access to the mountains, Oslo is a vibrant tech scene fuelled by talent, fun, and funding.
Our ambition is to contribute to true environmental and social impact by providing backing to startups and scaleups with the same ambitions as us. Our minds are quite open, however we value the following:
- a strong and dedicated team, addressing a significant problem, with a potentially international market, applying the very latest technology
Teams we invest in are usually located in Europe. Our role is typically to provide funding and advice on structure, set-up, and go-to-market alternatives, without interfering with the daily doings of the team. We like to engage with the teams, however we do not take lead.
Luis G. Paulsen is the CEO of Strahl Capital. He first became active on the sustainable business scene as one of two founders of the European Green Table in 1989. The EGT aimed to bring business leaders, NGO's, scientists, and politicians together in order to create viable solutions for transitioning to more sustainable business practices. The EGT commissioned the report "Environmental Performance Indicators in Industry" (Molenkamp, Hafkamp - DTR, 1990), which contributed to the development of reporting standards on environmental performance.
In 2001 Luis became responsible for setting the strategic framework and for steering EcoOnline Global - the leading EHS company - until resigning his board position in 2020, pre IPO.
